Recently I felt the urge to ask the graduates of the Soul Business Blueprint this question: ‘What do you know to be true about soul-based business?’ I asked them to write their responses for the Sacred Business blog. Here are their inspiring reflections…
Where to begin!!!! How do I explain the amazing and continuing journey into “soul-based business” course with Natalie Kent.
Before I commenced this course I had taken 6 months off from my astrology/tarot/reiki business to do some work on myself, and also to try to work out where I needed to direct my business to make it successful and also less time consuming. I work in administration 4 days a week, and then worked the other three on my business. This was getting to the stage where I was feeling overwhelmed by all I needed to do – or what I perceived I needed to do.
I belong to a support network of alternate therapists who meet the first Friday every month for a coffee/breakfast catch up. Jodie presented her update and explained to us she was doing a business course with a difference, co-ordinated by Natalie Kent. She also shared some the many wonderful insights she received during the course.
My intuition kicked in and I just knew I had to do this course. I looked up Natalie’s website etc., and was immediately impressed by all she conveyed and decided to ring Natalie on the Saturday. Natalie organized a catch-up meeting to make sure that we were a “good fit”. Although I could not explain to Natalie exactly what I wanted to do with my business, all I could say that I knew I needed to do this, my gut was telling me this was right for me.
What transpired for me was an amazing journey of further self-understanding, and also insights on what I really want to do with my business. During this process I connected to my inner truth to realize, that something I vaguely thought I wanted to do, was in actual fact, something that I needed to do both for myself and for my tribe.
Most of my life has been spent as a support person for the people in my life. I have been the carer to many of my family as they battled health issues. I have never spent much time thinking about what I really want to do with my life. My life has been spent coping and getting on with caring for others. This has had its rewards. But this is a life based on serving others, and not really serving myself.
A life out of balance!!
This is often a problem with women, and especially older women, raised to think of others before themselves. Women can often feel there is something missing or not quite right about their lives. However, they do not really know where to start to make change. But they know that they want to create change.
Creating balance in your life is not only possible, but essential if we want to live a fulfilled life.
In the past few years I tuned into my inner truth more and more and have created changes in my life which enhance balance. This is an ongoing process, and since I love learning new things, will be an ongoing process for the rest of my life.
Coming from this path myself, I am now offering support to other women to connect to their inner truth, to be able to find balance in their lives. Helping others is important and rewarding, but this needs to be done in tandem to helping oneself and ensuring that one’s needs are also met. To find this balance in our lives is essential to feeling we are traveling a path of authenticity and meaningfulness. By creating meaningful change, we will become a “choice maker” in our lives, not a just a passenger. It is important to live a life that corresponds to what is true for us on a soul level.
