If you are a business owner, you are a creator.
If you are a parent, you are a creator.
If you are an artist, an athlete, a bartender or a blogger, you are a creator.
We are all creators in some form or another; we each have the capacity to set our intention and through co-creation, bring it to fruition. This form of conscious creation is one of the pinnacles of being human: to align with our vision and co-create with the universe to make it reality.
Conscious creators on this planet are very powerful, especially in the world of business, sweeping people up in their vision and supporting their livelihoods, building mutually beneficial relationships and directing money flow. You may wonder how these people do it. How is it that they seem to create something from nothing?
Conscious creators have one thing in common – they know how to live in their creative flow. They know how to channel their life force energy for a productive purpose. They know how to slipstream into their natural creation style, and more importantly, they don’t go against it.
Most people who are struggling through life resist their creative flow, they shut it down, channel it in destructive ways, or deny that they have the power to create what they desire at all.
Yes, this is partly choice, but there is more to it than that. Do you ever feel the pressure to create in a way that doesn’t feel right, or simply doesn’t work for you?
In our Western culture, we’re told that we should create according to a universal formula…
Decide what you want.
Set a goal.
Go for it.
Fast.
And, if you have any resistance to this way, you need to ‘blast through those fears and get your head in the game’.
For some of us, this works, at least for a while. But it’s not the whole equation and it certainly doesn’t work for everyone. Here’s the catch:
We don’t all create in the same way
Over the last few years of mentoring people at the seed stage of business, often from the very conception of their business, I noticed a distinct trend. Once we had reached a point where they had a clear business identity, ie. their vision, niche, offering/s and value proposition, some breezed into implementation, sharing their vision and enrolling their first customers. Some, on the other hand, stalled.
For a while I was puzzled. Was it something I was doing wrong as a mentor? Were my expectations too high? Perhaps my methods just didn’t work for everyone… and bingo. That was it. I realized that not everyone could simply have a plan and execute it in a particular way. And if I was going to continue to call myself a business coach, I had to find out how to nurture each person according to his or her individual creation style. From my understanding of psychosomatics, I started analyzing the differences in their primary life and business resource: their bodies. Here’s what I found…
Your soul gifts + your body type = your creative power
Your creative power is what enables you bring your dreams, visions and intentions into being. Using your body as a vehicle, you can deliver your soul gifts and make an impact with your time and resources. In other words, your body is built for a purpose and not only do you need to know what that purpose is, you also need to know how to use it for its intended purpose.
Every body is different, which can have a profound impact on how each person is able to express and execute their soul’s plan. For example, various body types will tell you the difference between someone who is:
- a fast decision-maker who thinks after acting,
- an intellectual who creates ingenious solutions,
- one who thrives on repeated obstacles,
- one who prioritises relationships over results, or
- a slow mover whose purpose is to stabilize change incrementally.
Your body is your primary and paramount resource for bringing your soul’s potential to life. Your body is what channels your creative energy into actions, into projects, businesses and relationships that matter to you. Just as a river flows in a particular direction within its boundaries, your skeletal structure and the concentration and distribution of your body tissue, direct your energy. It is this direction, this pattern of natural flow, that determines how you most naturally create.
Fast or slow, consistently or in bursts, independently or in collaboration, through dreams or reality… there are diverse styles of manifestation, all of which can be effective, depending on a person’s physical constitution.
Are you going with the flow of your natural creation style? Being true to your creation style can help you carve out a unique brand and a path to success that is tailored to who you are and what you do best. It’s not just your craft (life coach, accountant, school teacher etc) that capitalizes on your best qualities, you can also leverage those qualities in terms of HOW you grow your business. Allow me to explain…
The perils of the one-size-fits-all approach to business building
It can be incredibly alluring, especially for someone new to business, to mimic another person’s path to success, along the lines of ‘if it worked for them, then it will work for me’.
As business owners, we are saturated with unlimited options, strategies, tools and technologies to help us succeed. Social media platforms, joint venture opportunities, digital product techniques, business coaches touting different success strategies… how on Earth do we choose what’s best for us?
The one with the most persuasive sales pitch?
The cheapest/most expensive?
The least time intensive?
By word of mouth?
Or worse, by random selection? ie. ‘I stumbled across this one and it looks good’
Decisions based on any of the above are not optimal. Why? Because they don’t take into account the individual person who has to execute those strategies.
Ever wonder why so many people sign up for courses and then fail to implement?
I’ve seen it time and again, where the strategies that are recommended, are not realistic for the person who is responsible, much of the time solely responsible, for executing what they’ve been taught. They know what to do in theory, but they can’t put it into practice. There is a very good reason for this which I’ll explain in a moment. But instead, the cycle of chasing other people’s formulas for success continues.
The choice is yours: Would you like to create randomly according to someone else’s success or deliberately by your own true nature?
You are built for a purpose, according to the laws of nature
The natural world is the ultimate creator. Nature is very deliberate in its approach to creation. Plants and animals follow their formula for survival without question, the seasonal cycles moderate growth, the destructive forces of nature come when change is needed, and it all works.
If nature is able to thrive in almost any environment, wouldn’t we be wise to take note of the forces that enable such consistent success?
What if we were a reflection of nature, following similar creative patterns to our elemental creators? What if we were built to operate in a particular way, if our physical structure, shape and constitution informed how we most naturally create?
Like a whirlwind darting in all directions, constantly on the move…
Like the sun, a steady, warming presence yet out of reach…
Like a river, flowing effortlessly through the landscape at speed, with hidden depths
Like a volcano, excavating the Earth’s most inner core to realign the landscape…
What if these nature states were the missing link for us to create with ease as Mother Nature demonstrates every day? Better still, what if knowing our predominant nature state showed us our place, our role within our own human ecosystem, our tribe, our community. And, in turn, our industry…
You are a force of nature with a specific contribution to your community. It’s called your Creator Type.
As a conscious creator, you know why you are here and how to create what you set your mind and heart to. You know what your business needs to thrive, because you intrinsically understand what it takes to grow a seed into a tree. You are nature, and instead of sidestepping your natural way of creating, you live in your creative flow.
The 12 Creator Types : Activate Your Creative Power
This is the first time all 12 Creator Types have been revealed. For the last year, I’ve been assisting my clients in building their businesses based on their Creator Type, their natural way of creating. What has been most surprising to me is how quickly they bonded with their Type and how easily they began adopting the characteristics of their type, like it was second nature, literally. The result has been greater clarity and confidence in choosing which business strategies work best for them, as well as understanding their role in their industry, particularly their niche.
Here’s a snapshot of the 12 types, what purpose they are naturally built for and their defining physical features. Take a look in the mirror… Perhaps you can tell which one best describes you?

~ Fire Creators ~
As you can see, Mother Nature has been rather instrumental in the creation of our beautiful bodies, and the nuances we each have. Understanding your primary Creator Type is the only tip of the iceberg, yet it can have a marked effect on the decisions you make in growing your business. Once you start interacting with other Creator Types and co-creating together, the power of knowing your creation style is exponential (more on that to come).
